Frequently Asked Questions

What is the average cost for an annual Agreement?
The base rate is established based upon the costs to provide such services in each area. We have a variety of affordable plans to enable homeowners to be well protected.

Will WWSAI pay to drill a new well if required?
Yes. If it is determined that a new well is required, we will pay for the drilling of a new well. Specifically, we will provide services for drilling up to 10 holes with a total drilled depth of 2,970 feet. This will provide required water service for over 99% of the population. In addition, the costs of pumps, piping, and electrical connections to the exterior walls of the house are also paid for by WWSAI.

Are there any additional costs?
Additional annual fees include $50 for the annual water safety testing (optional with Basic plan), $100 Well Depth Surcharge (for well over 500 feet in depth) and costs for initial testing where applicable (to ensure that the well is currently functioning). Emergency service calls may be assessed a $75 on site service fee regardless of the severity of the problem. See the specific agreements for complete description of fees. With WelGardTM and WelGard PremierTM there are no additional charges for installing any required components (e.g. well pumps) or drilling a new well and installing exterior system components.

Are Agreements transferable from sellers of real estate to buyers?
Agreements for a specific well are transferable between sellers and buyers of real estate, but relate to the specific well. WWSAI requires notification from a buyer of property under contract, only so that our records can be updated.

If the customer does not have a current yield report is one required?
There is a separate, one-time, non-refundable fee for this service, as part of the initial testing.

How does an affirmative response to questions on the Application affect the sales process and acceptance of the Agreement?
Dependent on the nature of the affirmative response, Agreements will always be considered. Such considerations or exclusions will be applied on a uniform and consistent basis.

How do I access WWSAI services, and what can I expect once services are initiated?
After calling our toll free number (866.WelGard/410.419.9989), a "case advocate" is assigned to each episode of customer service (i.e. when a customer calls in indicating a water adequacy problem). This person serves as a coordinator of professional services, speaking with the contractor and customer until a resolution is completed. This ensures that customers understand the process (es) undertaken and that the agreement is fulfilled and the customer issue is resolved.

In what areas do you provide services?
Geographically, we will only initiate services in areas where (a) we feel that we have suitable and adequate service professionals and (b) where we understand the service and maintenance needs of well water systems.

Are there any requirements to purchase an agreement?
Provided you are the current or contemplated owner/primary user of a private residential well water system that is currently in good working order, you are eligible for the purchase of our agreement. A recent Well Yield Report, or service by an acceptable and qualified well professional may be used to indicate that your well is in good working order. If you do not have such documentation we will provide a modified Well Yield Report and initial inspection at your request as part of the initial testing.

How do I pay for such services?
The Annual Agreement Fee is due prior to the effective date of the Agreement; and the On-Site Service Call Fee is due prior to initiation of services required. Both are payable by cash, check or credit card delivered to a representative of WWSAI. Credit card monthly payment plans are available.

What is the service cost if I currently use more than 1 well to supply adequate water?
Each agreement generally relates to each well and its permit. Assuming multiple wells are owned and in place to supply water to a single household due to the inadequacy of water from any of the wells individually, each well would require a separate agreement, and each well would be required to be under an agreement. Separate agreements would include the additional equipment required to draw water from either well or switch between them for a water source, as appropriate. If separate wells are used for different functions, a separate agreement can be issued for either well permit number.
